Just got Bark River Bravo 1- never saw shiny G 10...ok to 220 grit a bit to lose that...that polished, it's slick too?

The handles have always been my problem w/ Bark Rivers. They are beautifully crafted knives but my hands just can't dance with 'em, esp when it's wet.

I don't see why you can't rough the handle up any way you want....stipple it, crosscut it....I would para or leather wrap it myself. To make it thicker, wingwalk tape, bicycle grip wrap, etc. Lot of things you can do for grip. Just make it look good. :)

Might be a good idea for me too down the road.....

Your text is a bit hard to parse, but welcome to the forum. :-)

BRKT buffs their handles very smooth. Try the G10 with wet hands and see if that improves it. 220 will be very NOT shiny. I'd try something in the 320-600 range first, ideally starting with finer grits and moving your way down until you get what you want.
Good luck.
