Wow, it's a small world. My family found this wreck back in 93. I remember coming home from school and they took me upstairs and opened the door to one our the rooms. In front of me was a cannon and hundreds of uncleaned silver coins. I think i was in 5th or 6th grade at the time and did a project for my history class on the wreck-- got 1st place. After high school, I spend a few years cleaning and preserving coins and artifacts at our museum. I also spent 3 month at sea on one of the last and most productive salvage trips of the shipwreck before we sold it. It was a great time in my life, and something that I will never forget. I have to say, i've never seen one of our coins mounted like this. Jim Reahard (the signature on the certificate) was my grandfather--he has passed away now and is sorely missed.
