Shipping a dagger to Italy?

Anyone know about Italy knife importing laws? is it illegal to ship 12" dagger to there?

From the above, it would seem that it is not illegal to ship a large dagger to Italy. But if stopped by Italian Customs, the receiver may have to appear with the proper permit to take possession. And not carry it.
