Hi guys,

I wanted to order a William Henry Slip case at Williamhenry.com. Cost of the slip case $30.
When I asked for an estimate of the shipping cost (I live in the Netherlands) it came up with $96.32 through UPS/worldwide saver express. There wasn't another option I could choose from btw.
I mean seriously.....
Anyone with experience buying something at Williamhenry.com and shipping to the Netherlands/Europe?
Or even better, any good online shops in Europe where these slip cases are available?

use the dealer drop down menu in his site ...there is one in Sweden...

Allready checked the dealers mentioned in the drop down menu. Don't know where they come up with those, because most of them don't even sell anything william henry related. The sweden shop says 'page not found' if you select william henry knives.
The only good one seems to be Hennie Haynes in the UK, but there the slip case (they only have the mediem size) is out of stock.

that(list them as dealer) probably means that at some point they have sold something Henry W...call them, maybe they can special order it for you..

I would call Willaim Henry directly. Explain the situation and what you are trying to do. Trust me getting all the shipping opitons on a website correctly is impossible. Bout the time ya think ya may have it everything changes. Most of the items they sell are considerably more in value. That price for shipping looks like they are including insurance on one of their knives. I recently sent a package of product to the UK. Its total value was about what one of their knvies goes for. About the same shipping as you qouted.

Joortje send me an email: jcooper AT sharpbycoop DOT com.

Shipping is FREE to me in the US from WHS (UPS ground) and a first class stiff cardboard envelope (no more then 15mm thick) is about $8.00 shipped from me to you. (A small box is about $30, but those pouches are thin to fit in an envelope.)

It might take a while but the protection would be fine and the cost is within reason.

A favor for you, if you'd like.

Coop (who has Dutch ancestry. :))

Hi Coop,

Managed to contact Hennie Haynes and they are ordering the one I wanted. So problem solved.. :)

Nevertheless, thanks alot for the offer, much appreciated!

Where are you're ancestors from in the Netherlands? Long time ago?

Excellent. Good for you.

My grandfather (who died of pneumonia at age 28 in 1932) was Wilbur Van Alstyne. His mother was a Yerks. I think that's Dutch ancestry, correct? I know very little before that.

(My Grandmother changed our name to Cooper after remarrying when my dad was five.)

Anyway, I'm pleased for you. I'm off the hook! ;)

A little off topic and a little on:

My family is from Meteren Netherlands. Guy from Rotterdam here on work trade said "that's the most boring place in the Netherlands. It takes 4 hours to cross the country north to south but 6 to get there from anywhere". Lol

Joortje: A thousand blessings. Yes, that link IS my family. I had forgotten that it was out there.

I appreciate YOUR time!

SVT: Maybe we're family friends. :)

Others: Thread drift, but well meaning.
