shipping from Canada to US

is there anything that needs to be done/ i need to know? I'm gonna be getting a timberline wortac from someone up in ontario, and i'm in NY... might there be difficulties if he ships via standard shipping (whatever that may be?)

Postal service is usually very reliable.
Put it in a strong box, make sure address is clear, fill out customs slip as "cutlery", ship registered and insure it. Should arrive in continental US in 5 to 7 working days but has been known to take 12 days.
