Shipping mix up

Completely round. lol

Hmm, the First Alert logo looks off to me and the edge profile is not right. Looks like a fake to me. Any pics of the box and bar code. :)

I once ordered a $20 utilitarian ("peasant") 4" blade folding knife from a seller in Asia. I was instead shipped a 4" CNC-machined titanium frame lock with a blade marked as being of CPM-S30V steel. It was essentially a clone or knockoff of a very recognizable USA production knife.

Now get this: the seller had actually contacted me days before the knife arrived to say a barcode mixup had occurred and that I would by mistake be receiving a knife he'd normally advertise at $170. He requested that I ship it back but only on the condition that I'd be reimbursed for the return shipping cost AFTER the knife made it back to him. I would have immediately returned it if he sent the funds to cover shipping, but for reasons that remain inexplicable to this day, he refused to do so. It quickly devolved into an "irresistible force meets immovable object" standoff. After the exchange of over 25 (!) e-mails with him, he finally gave up and told me to keep the missent knife as his "gift" to me. Go figure.

It was easy to establish that the knife's handle is indeed some sort of titanium alloy, probably the common 6AL-4V of commerce, but I have no practical way of determining if the blade is indeed made of S30V. All I can tell you is that it's some sort of stain-resistant steel alloy that holds an edge reasonably well. The blade including its titanium handle is possibly worth as much as $170 as claimed. All in all (if you don't value at minimum wage the time spent to compose 25 e-mail replies), it was possibly some of the best twenty bucks I ever spent.

Pretty unrelated but.... I once bought a 200$ clock and it arrived on time no problems. A few weeks later I came home to a package on my porch. My first thought was "oh shit! I had to much whiskey and ordered something on 'accident' again!" Nope! It was another clock. I admit I thought about keeping it for about two minutes until my conscience kicked in. I didn't want some guy getting canned for an honest mistake. The customer service rep on the phone didn't say thank you or anything! She told me to pay the shipping out of pocket but I would not reimbursed. That's roughly $30. Not effing happening! I called again the next day too talk to somebody else. I was told the same thing! So I sold it to a buddy.
