I'm not sure where a post of this type belongs, so here goes. In these "giveaways", where the gifter says must be USA or such and such due to pricey shipping, does that mean that in these giveaways the poster in paying for shipping as well? So the winner actually pays not a dime out of pocket?

Your Q probably doesn't belong here -- try General Knife Discussion. Or, better yet, ask the person doing the particular giveaway that you're interested in.

I paid for the packaging and shipping for every knife that I've given away here.

Correct. It is common for the "gifter" to pay all costs.
Which is why they sometimes limit where they will ship to.

If you had to pay shipping if you won, it wouldn't be a very free knife.;)
Customs fees are a different matter, and out of the control of the sender.

I've given away stuff on several forums and have never considered charging for the S&H.

I've won a few items as well and all of them included shipping.

Well looks like my answer is questioned. If you catch my drift. Thank you all for the input, and sorry about putting this in the wrong spot, just wasn't sure seeing as how it was pertaining to the exchanging of things over the forums. Thanks.
