So i recently worked out a knife trade and gave the guy my address but forgot to give him my name so he used my instagram name, will my package still get delivered safe and sound?

If the address was correct then it should. A computer scans the package for the address which then sends it down the correct conveyor belts to get to the right area. The name shouldn't matter as much in my opinion. I have had people leave the name feels blank and it still manages to get to me.

I have a brother who will sometimes send me a card for my birthday, but he doesn't always put my name on it, rather a childhood nickname that has no real meaning outside our family. It still arrives.

You could put pretty much anything on the name part. "to the owners of the fat black cat that lives at" :D Or my favorite "Mow your Lawn!"

Just for reference, this will not work in Switzerland (so possibly other places outside the US). The name MUST match the shipping address. Ended up being a headache for me once!

You'll be fine, though.

I could be wrong , but I think it can be a problem with PO boxes. I seem to remember they matched names with the PO address, and you had to list all names you wanted delivered to your box.

When it was mailed the clerk entered your number and street. Then the computer prints a bar code for that post office/route/carrier. You will be just fine. Just tell you mailman to look for it. So he don't send it back.

If you live in a private house, no problem. If you live in, say, New York City -- oops! We like to get the name AND apartment number for buildings with a couple of hundred tenants. :)
