Hello dear friends,
With God's good will today i present you a novelty in our portfolio - a full size, titanium frame lock folder - 'Shirasaya' - the 'Japan-ised' brother of the 'Skiagusta'
Built around a titanium 'core' this folder is a gorgeous cutter.
An aluminium/vanadium alloy, Grade 5 TA6V titanium offers an excellent compromise between mechanical strength, toughness and ductility hence it was the choice for the frame of the folder.
The detent ball is high quality ceramic for an ever lasting smooth action without deformations.
All screws are precision machined stainless steel, the stop and pivot pins are hardened, precision ground 400c stainless steel so no wear in there even after prolonged years of use.
The blade slides on bronze washers with 'grease pockets'.
The blade is made using the high carbon W2 tool steel at 63 hrc (beware it is not rustproof but you know me - i am the carbon steel guy
), with a high flat grind, clay hardened and a hand finished mirror polished and etched taht shows a gorgeous 'shadow' hamon. The blade comes razor sharp.

- Grade 5 TA6V titanium - satin finish.
