Shiro Kunimitsu Forge Japan.

I have a curved-back Bunka (Aogami No-2) made by Nakamura Hamono and a Nikari ( Shirogami No.1) made by Shigemitsu Hamono. These 2 knives are, without doubt, the best Japanese knives I have.

This is what is keeping me from getting a Gyuto and a Santoku.

From Japanese Food Craftsman:

We understand this change may increase costs for U.S. customers. We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Some U.S. consumers report import taxes ranging from 20% to 80%. These taxes are not included in our free shipping and are the customer’s responsibility.

I had a 28% charged on the $160 USD Nikari.

Neat stuff, enjoyed the video.

I've slowly built my Dad a nice set of Shun Premiers, one holiday at a time. Nothing exotic but they serve him well. Have a few Rocksteads that are excellent. I'd sure like to lean into the scene at some point and learn.

As for Uncle Sams take. I've forked over more than I care to consider. lol
