I have a used knife that I bought new, full price from Recon 1 (California website, very good service) for around 550 bucks. I purchased it about 5 years ago and haven't carried it that much (which is why I'm trying to trade).
I do not want to mislead anybody. This knife is in good condition but I have used this knife to do basic food prep and I have played with it a bunch.
I have disassembled this knife just because I wanted to see what a ball bearing knife looked like. I then re-oiled the knife using premium knife lube. It has all of its bearings and the action is AWESOME. If anybody is interested I can send video. Seriously, the action is fall shut and awesome!
Buyer beware: There are two issues with this knife:
1: There is a VERY slight dent in the titanium handle where I dropped it - it's on the outside near the screw and it is hard to see unless you look at it very closely, but personally I am very OCD and this would annoy me on a new knife, so please be aware (I will send you detailed pictures if you are interested)
2: The other issue is I USED BLUE TEMP LOCTITE when I put the knife back together and even though it works perfectly I am having trouble undoing the screw because of the OBNOXIOUS spinning pivot (I haven't tried to force anything because I didn't want to hurt anything). The free spinning pivot is the number one reason why I am getting rid of this knife. There are a couple scuff of marks on the pivot screw (I can send pics) from the screwdriver I used. I cannot understate how annoying a free spinning pivot is. I will never buy another knife that has a free spinning pivot!!! If you don't know what I'm talking about, maybe skip this knife!
To repeat: I used TEMP blue temp loctite and the knife is still perfect in function and utility. I'm sure if anybody wanted to they could warm the loctite up to disassmble for cleaning. I just don't really care enough to. This is a As Is Item.
I can send video or pics, the centering is good and the action is fall shut.
I have had many knives, from Benchmade to Fallkniven to Spyderco - this one hands down has the best fit/finish/action and it just melts into my (medium glove) sized hands. I want to love it, but it's just not really my style.
Any trade offers?
