looking these knives, is it any good? can the Russians make a good knife?:concern:

they seem wicked nice. I want one really bad, but the price tag is a little bit out of my comfort zone. as for knives made by ruskys. my brother has a custom made by ROSarms. he loves the thing for bushcrafting.

if I know anything about the Russian's they build things simple and rugged as all heck. from their guns to their concrete block housing. If we're going off that then expect the thing to be bomb resistant and easy to fix on your own. but if I know Russian's then I also know they aren't big on customer service, so don't expect them to stand behind their product after it gets out of their shop.

This is all based on my preconceived cultural notions about them though. I really know nothing about these knives. that's just what I would expect from Russian anything

I am very much so satisfied with mine so far.

i have a mod 95 - full titanium. its awesome. the fit and finish is incredible, and the flipping action is amazing. the blade shape makes it a great slicer. buy with confidence.

There was a really sweet Mod 95 with BG42 blade steel and carbon fiber
inserts in the ti scales on the exchange recently.

I have the Hati and a friend of my has the all Ti with CF insert. I LOVE mine and he LOVES his. his father was a machinist, so, he knows good machining when he sees it and he says the Shirogorov brothers are machining Gods. My Hati flips like a dream and the fit and finish is excellent. My buddies knife is even smoother and faster than mine, which is hard for me to believe, but his is broken in.
I will say that they only negative to buying a Shiro is it will take about 7 months to get your knife back once you ship it back to Russia for service or warranty issues. Everyone who has one absolutely loves them.

The hyperbole is strong with this one.

"it will take about 7 months to get your knife back once you ship it back to Russia for service or warranty issues."

this could be a problem

Hows that? Are you refereeing to my figures of speech?

I could point out specifics but I was just funnin. I have no doubt it's a nice knife don't get me wrong but that seems a little heavy on the praise is all. I have seen others praise it also but they stopped short of calling the designers gods.

"machinist Gods" were not my words but my friends, and it's all said in jest and not meant to be taken so literal.
