I have a Chuddy Bear sheath for my Busse with a 9” blade that has a cut out up front that extends to most of the blade length with a strap to make it easier to draw a long blade.If it were me, it would be something which enhances the draw to put it into action.
(I already know that whatever you build will be robust enough, and of prime material and build quality.)
