The photo, inexplicably, shows the handle as being brown. This is unusual since all the other neutral colors are correct. I will gladly provide more photos. The handle is a cherry red. Beautiful!

Not a clue. But I think if it were samurai steel it would have cost more than what I paid....which was $850.
 
Still available...make a reasonable offer or lets do some good ol trading. Knives watches etc.....
