Shobu-Zukui Wakizashi hamon (pic heavy)

thanks for the imput...
gotta ponder this one.. i think i may go for a split approach.
i am thinking about a black linen tsuba with horn fuchi and kashira. but make it look like it is all horn (or ebony). possibly some micarta on the kashira (that is the one on the end right?) i have a little time to think about about... got to make the Habaki first.

the G10 was in a dumpster out back of my shop at nasa, but it isnt very pretty i dont think. it is a greenish clearish whitish color (see the pic) got some Ti and some copper too! great stuff. good handle material.. but not good "fitting" matterial

thanks for the offer sam! what does the corian look like?

thanks!
~Chris

the entire blade (including the tang) is 24" exactly.

it is about an inch and a quarter wide and width is really hard to discribe. it about 1/4" wide on the spine where the habaki fits on but at the same spot it is prolly 5/16" where the diamon blade profile is the widest. also... it tapers... but well it is hard to explain. the tip is wider on the spine than the middle of the blade on the spine... but the entire blade tapers towards the tip.

i am attatching a pic... it has the blade going away from the camera over my shoulder.. all you can really see is how the spine tapers.. it is hard to explain.. and you really have to see it in real life.

and i forgot to attach the picture of the G10

That light colour on that G10 is nice, almost organic looking, But it depends on the colour of the wrap.

Very nice, I guess you got it quenched with out breaking this time. Also, be careful placing that sharp pointy thing on that trampoline, I would hate to have some sad faced kids with a giant cleanly sliced hole in their tramp.

Whoah! You have some major skill mate! That thing needs a nice long handle of about 10 inches if the tang is long enough to support it! Stunning piece of steel.

Great job. Nice grind, and the harmon came out great. I am sure that you will figure out the right handle materials and it will be most excellent.

i am thinking i am going to go with a micarta horn combination.
i was just able to test out of two college course so i will have a little extra time.
gonna hopfully make the habaki today..(thats the hardest part for me) then start on the rest
thanks!
