Even if it is a short lesson.

Outstanding post!

The looter is well known to history. Looters aren't the miserable few who steal to eat. These are predators, hyenas who stalk and prey on the weak. They take advantage of tragedy, and war, and chaos. One does not rape because of poverty. Real looting is going on in New Orleans.
All great nations, and empires, at one time had to deal with looters. More recently, in WW II. There is and has been one universal answer. Shoot to kill. These are not mere thieves or robbers. They are looters, the antithesis of the idea of democracy and a social contract or, for the Marxists and postMarxists, a social order. You cannot waste resources needed to help the innocent on apprehending and incarcerating their victimizers. You shoot to kill. And they have to know that. Hyenas only retreat when they have to.
 
I love my fellow man enough to want him to evolve. We are suffering as a people because we enable the unfit and parasitic.

I will help my species if possible. Sometimes, love can be harsh.

"That's life". The universe is impartial in its love.
