Shooting Gathering?

There is the ISRA range down near Kankakee. I hear it is a really nice range

I think you need to be a member to go there. The range by 355 in Bolingbrook is also open now. The problem with the new ones that are opening is they are $22-$25 an hour, Rinks in Lockport is still $10.

I think the best options are the DNR site in Michigan and Buffalo Pit and Range -

At BP the range is on the same grounds - it is privately owned. We could all meet up and shoot and then either camp or find a hotel and set up our chairs in the parking lot, I have done that plenty with friends at gatherings of different types.

I`m trying to locate a place outdoors where we could have a "Shooting Gathering" this Spring. Anybody know of a place? Buffalo Rock is supposedly open again, (for now), but it`s crowded and kind of pricey at $30 for the day.

Is Buffalo Rock any safer now than it was years ago? If it's anything like it used to be I wouldn't recommend going anywhere near that place, especially not for $30/per day.

There's the Sycamore Sportsmans Club but there isn't much info online and they don't have a website.

From what I've found, the price for the public is $10 from 12:30PM to 4PM on weekends.

I'll try to get more info. I'd love to participate in a shooting get-together.

Let me know if you'd like any info regarding Sycamore Sportsman's Club. I was a member and RSO there until I moved out of N IL last summer. It's a very well run range by a great group of people but limited hours that they're open to the public. 50 ft, 25yd, 50yd, & 100 yd ranges. Safety briefing before they open to the public and 3-4 RSO's on duty at all times.

There's Mcmiller Sports Center in Eagle, WI. This is where I usually go. All day, all their ranges and trap for $22. There are a few campgrounds near by (no experience with any of them though). About 2.5 hours from Mokena.
