Shop Decorations?

I've got some vintage calendar pinup girls... some posters, Ghostbusters and Bob Marley etc. A big Gesswein chart of EDM stones, and a metal blacksmith sign for when I demonstrate.
By the grinding room, I have a few catastrophically failed hamon cleaver blades hanging from a nail to punish me a little whenever I see them...

Not a whole lot of decorations in my small shop, but I have these:

I painted this about 30 years ago. Its from of an old advertisement I saw in a magazine.

My 6 year old has promise

Tough guys tough jobs and tough lives. Love it , thanks John, Reminds me of my dad who was a railroader for most of his life.

I don't have any art or curtains hanging in my shop, But on the wall of my indoor work room I keep this picture hanging, Its a picture of my dad and his work crew when he was building the Mackinac bridge, They are standing on one of 2 barges that hung the suspended frame work under the bridge, you can see it hanging in the back ground, every day when the weather was good, They would load up 2 sections and a tug would push them out, then a floating crane would lift them into place. The AB on their hard hats stands for american bridge, my dads hard hat was in the bridge museum until it burnt down, Now after the rebuild in a glass case they keep my dads union book with a log of the hours he worked.

My dad is on the far right the one with the shit eating grin on his face, he was the jokester on the crew, I swear he had a smile or a grin on his face his whole life right up until the end, But he was also equally hard, When I got out of line as a kid he showed no mercy

He also had a pack rat side, and a thing for keeping stuff in coffee cans and cigar box's, (he had a King Edward cigar sticking out of his face most of his life right up until 1973, then he just quit cold turkey, Gin and Cigars, Much to the over joyed approval of my mother) So in my garage I have a corner filled with his cans and cigar box's, I still find useful stuff in there from time to time

The job was as hard on them as they were on them selves, My mom told me in the morning (she was a waitress) The restaurants filled up with hungry bacon eaters and every night the bars filled up with thirsty construction workers, from what I gather it was a 4 year party while the bridge was being built, now I like to frequent the local pub just as much as the next guy (not so much anymore) but every night? I'd be dead in a month at that rate LOL

Here are some of the decorations I was talking about.

First, the antler trophy from a deer shot in 1938, which happens to be holding up my shop apron, and also doubles as a coat rack when I have a raincoat that is dripping wet. The stop sign is from a 1950s-60s school bus.

Next is the pay phone.

Finally, behind my new Craftsman adjustable stool you can see a display case in which I keep some of my bakelite object collection, some transistor radios, and the knives I've made that I will keep for myself.

Great stuff guys! :)

Greg- I love that pay-phone. Teens can almost instinctively use a smart phone.... but how hilarious would it be to give them a quarter and tell them to make a call on that?!? :D

How about future decorations? They still need to be mounted (some of the grouse may just get stapled to studs, as is)

Some Grouse, turkey and pheasant tails.

I don't have much in the way of decoration, but I have this fish head. You're never lonely when you have a fish head.

Please tell me that you've got an alien orgin story of that fish head for any kids under 12 that visit the shop.

The story is obvious. Tell them that when attacked by an Alien, he used one of his amazingly sharp knives to terminate the alien.

Really cool stuff from everyone. I have a few old tools, tool box, and a tackle box that were all pass downs from family. The tackle box was my great grandfathers. I also have a huge cleaver from the grocery store he owned that I'm refurbing.

The tools.
