i got a amish made shed, well its more of the cottage type that is going to be my shop, what kind of flooring should i use being that there will be blade grinding going on...right know it has 3/4 plywood...any suggestions?? thanks!

Concrete is always good. Some put down a couple inches of pea gravel, but that is hard t walk on. Hard clay is used in old style shops. If you want something in sheet form, use sheets of cement board siding. It runs about $25 a sheet, which is about $0.75 a sq.ft.

You can just paint the existing floor with an epoxy or aliphatic porch/garage floor paint.

The best way to keep a new shop clean is to not let it get dirty. Sweep at the end of every day's work, and vacuum up where you can. Blow off the shelves regularly. Many of us delayed this process and now our shops are covered in dust and grinding debris.

I would probably go with cheap VCT tiles. They are more durable than Vinyl, and will sweep up easier than wood. Painting the floor with an epoxy paint may be a way to go as well. Whatever you put down will probably get trashed over time. You could do ceramic tile if you want to get real fancy. Maybe you can find something cheap on clearance.

It would depend on how permanent you want it to be--also if you want it to have any give to it for standing on it--that would bring to mind carpet squares, and also the VCT tiles Kdog mentioned. concrete is a tough monkey but is very durable--if the floor is not sealed, consider sealing the gaps in it, and even putting down something to serve as a vapor barrier.

I would just go with a good floor paint.
Seal up gaps & such where sparks might fall & hide...
