This is a fine grade Craig Barr damascus at just under 3/16" thick. Gator skin. I made this many years ago and sat on it because I HATE IT SO MUCH... I think I was high when I made this one?(figure of speech)
Then had it heat treated and guess what... when you heat treat damascus that is chisel ground, it will bend away from the grind. Just a smidge but it added to the ugly factor.
So, I bent it back post HT best I could and guess what else happened? When I bead blasted the Blue Twill G10 scales, I did the whole scale, back and front and it really dug into the scales and created added texture under the scales where there wasn't supposed to be any. By doing that, it created Gaps between the scales and the tang.
I could have just made new scales but to be honest, as an artist I lost the heart to continue fighting this knife.
Also, as a shop user it is well used but looks VG as far as user appearance.
So, these scales have gaps, the blade is ugly, the chisel grind is on the wrong side. The etch while it looks very nice, didn't come out as dark toward the pommel. Why? don't know but it's another page in the book about the knife I hate.
It's just wrong all the way around.... but it's sharp, fast in the hand, very comfy and would make a good "user". Will come with a Kydex sheath as well.
The Damascus bar alone cost me about $100.
Need to make some room and move my unecesarry stuff. So, you get this crazy, ugly, F'd Up knife, that is sharp, strong (Rc59), high quality steel & comfy for just $old pending!!!!!
It is unmarked(Sterile)
Thanks for looking!
PS, It's 12" OAL with a 6" blade.
