Thank Auntie for sharing the rituals. I totally understand and can get a feel after my short "Hindu induction course" in Bali Jun this year... I know once we try to our limits, sometimes we make mistake. This would help ease our mind considerably to know there is God there to protect us.

In my country, It is believed that July Lunar Calendar is the month when the gate of hell is opened and spirits are released. Hungry spirits go around and create trouble for any body just to ask for food. Most of the business here give offerings to them with cakes, rice congee, money (change or coin) and a decent suckling pig.
