Basically all of my shop scissors are dollar store/cheap finds and no surprise most are in the garbage broken. As I need new ones, I thought I would see what you use before upgrading. I have tin snips but would like something more scissor like. Any suggestions?

I have some TiN coated shears that look like chicken shears. Got them from Home Depot. Only use for cutting heat treat foil and vulcanized liner material. Like them so far except for the odd blade handle angle.

I had a pair of Cutco shears which are fantastic, but they got stolen with a bunch of my tools some years back. Now I have a nice pair of Böker 4" shears. Great for cutting sandpaper, templates, and other odds and ends. I did like the Cutco ones much better though, they had a T socket pivot so they can come apart easily for cleaning and they are dishwasher safe.

I use an old pair of scissors designed for cutting composite textiles. They are forged with a very sharp serrated edge that rips through anything you would want scissors for... easily the best quality scissors I have encountered.

This is going to sound dumb, but out local harbor freight has a pair of scissors that all metal, nothing fancy. They remind me of "blacksmith shop knives" but in scissor form. They are something like one or two bucks, and are amazing little scissors for the price. Snip thread right at the tip or cut an aluminum can in half, they do it all. I need to get a couple more pairs when I can get up there.

If they say "spear" I have the same model, but I think mine are older, I love them and cut everything with them. Super tough
