Shop talk bs: what have you traded a knife for?

A pickup bed full of axis antlers (which I then traded for an etcher, lots of handle material, some damascus billets, etc.), a completely handmade fountain pen, a classical guitar, good will and peace. That's all that comes to mind at the moment.

Y'all reminded me... I did do a knife for knife swap one time. Got a mediocre one in return for a pretty good one, and haven't done a KITH since. I also traded a knife for my anvil.

Hoss, what's the story on the van? Edmund Davidson once traded a knife or knives for a semi truck, Ford F650 or similar. I'd have to confirm the details.

meats and cheeses
oh, and I got a Kevin Cashen bowie in trade for a titanium sword thing that I made

In a direct trade -
A gold crown for a tooth and all my dental work for years.
Yardwork labor.
Auto repairs.

Since knives = money = things I can buy, it's all fungible, so, I trade knives for my tools in the shop.
I need to start making Better knives..... 😁😁😁

*I gave away a knife to a local trapper last year. He kills Tons of stuff.
He was overwhelmed with the edge retention of my knife. He wants another one.
Probably wanted it Free too???

He then offered me the trade in FISH.
so I'm stuck here wondering how many fish that is?

Good point...... Many years ago I went with him "dipping" with nets in a local river This time of the year for whitefish, and some carp. I was big into smoking then, and tried a few carp. Not very happy.
-whitefish were pretty good breaded/fried
