shop tough cell phone?

At my last job(Oilfield roustabout) Me and my boss were in a scissor lift 42 feet up and he got a call from his father on his gzone. So we are tightening bolts and hes holding it between his jaw and shoulder and down it goes straight onto concrete. Looking down it looked like it was in peices.we lowered the lift and here it was just the battery popped off. He put it back in and called his dad back and resumed the conversation. Those phones are tuff. One of the water truck drivers dropped his gzone into a tank while gauging it. So he strung his suction hose up through the man hole and sucked it onto his truck. After a 30 odd mile trip to our disposal well he used a screen on the end of his hose to get his phone back.Thats the only time Ive seen one of those phones not work, but its hard to say what chemicals and what kind of pressure the phone was under. Now on the other hand I carried a blackberry curve in an otter box defender case. The little trackball was a complete joke.

I have the Casio Brigade. So far I've dropped it, tossed it, kept it in a jar of water on my desk, and other general abuses.

Still going fine.

I'll cast another vote for Samsung Convoy. Although I'm not sure how it handles with regards to metal dust, it certainly can take a beating. Frequently I throw it against pavement just to point out how tough it is. Not to mention, it's dirt cheap compared to the g'zone, or any other phone for that matter.
