Shop Tour-My daily playground

Jeesh. I thought my shop had it all.

Man you should be able to take over the knife world in a year with those tolls at your hands!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys. When it has always been there it doesn't seem like a big deal. I'm just doing this for the pure enjoyment of it.

Now I need to stop dreaming up knives and get to work on a NWG. :)

I like the knife in your avater you made, keep up the great work!

Thanks, it is the only one I have finished.

I can't stop coming up with new ideas.

I broke one, and ruined one. Need to get warps out of 2 more chefs, and I have a set of exact twins I plan to make with one white ivory micarta scales, and the other black G10.

I have a folder in the works. Just got all the hardware in. Still needs some adjustment and scales. Here's that one.

Not too bad, for an amateur home shop. ;-)

And you know how to use it ALL?!?!?

Funny you should ask that. Just Thursday one of our leads, that has worked for us for over 15 years, was having an issue with a process. I walked up he showed me what was wrong, and I told him the machine was setup incorrectly. He was certain there was no possible way I could know this from the little info he told me, but I made the correct adjustment, and it worked perfectly.

Afterward he asked me, "how do you know how to run everything in the shop, when I have never seen you operating anything?" I just smiled back at him, motioned to the machine I just fixed, and said, "You see that machine, I was running it when I was 8 years old.". He smiled, shook his head, and went back to work.

That's a long way of saying, yeah pretty much. My welding could use some work though.
