Shop Tour - take a look

I have thought about the blade coming out of my hand and I am getting
a leather apron made for some protection.

Now for the other side of the coin,I believe that a clean shop is a sign of a sick mind,as these pix will attest,I am completely sane.Dont feel like the lone ranger Nathan,as I too am endowed with an abdominal hollow grinding jig,but mine was caused by heineken.
Speaking of shops resembling caves,I have a family of Mediterranean Gecko`s that live in my shop, fat little boogers about 3" long, about 10P.M. every night they start singing, sounds like kittens mewing,it really freaked me out the first time I heard it,I thought I was having flashbacks from my younger days........

hi nathan, is that G.E. motor from S,S,? it looks like the 1 1/4 hp that rfrink used to built my disc grinder. great! its val, and reversable too.

Nice Shop Nathan...Now you just need to mess it up a little(or allot)
Heck you can't do the cool grinders sway dance sitting down:D I tried sitting once but on a long blade I just couldn't get the flow going..
Lets see some knives now, even if they are the best of pictures..
Bruce

I'll bet you wear the kind of 'athletic cup' baseball catchers wear just to protect the jewels while sitting and grinding. If you don't, you should.
;)

That is a G.E motor, look at the disc and of to the right
of it is a drum switch.I have a lesson 1 hp 1725 and turned it
into a disc grinder,it runs both dirrection, took awhile to wire
it but I got it.;)
Scott, I am neat I know I am twisted don't drink the beer
but I like lots of FOOD you should see the wifes market bill:D

Hey Scott
by looking at one of your pic's I see you known
where to eat
>>BK all the way.
we've got to keep the spare tires rolling.

Great looking shop, Nathan, but the grinder looks all wrong
for you. You should send that grinder over to Reisterstown. Me!

nice shop Nathan--no doubt you're proud--let's see what you're producing out there--Dan

Nathan,

Nice shop. It reminds me of my own actually. I'm especially interested in your grinder. How do you like it? How well does it track? Is it quick and easy to change belts? Is there anything you don't like about it or would do differently ( maybe get a larger diameter wheel )? I'm considering buying one like it and anything you felt like sharing would be helpful.

Nathan,

A very nicely laid out shop, nice natural light, plenty of room. I am admiring that grinder setup and may be inspired to build a sitdown station when my Frink gets here next week.
That prednisone certainly is both a friend and enemy, isn't it? It's done wonders for me but at the expense (along with other meds) of putting on 130 pounds of belly. Had to learn grinding over now that I have to stand back so far...hehe. Never used a workrest before!

Nice shop...enjoy.

Hey Mike,

I think your machine will get there THIS week....about friday I hope. Keep your fingers crossed.

Rob

Mike thanks you for the kind words about the shop.
You will love your KMG,I hear you about the prednisone
I had to get shoulder becauase of a bone spur caused
by the prednisone, all well I can still grind,I have ground standing and setting,I can grind both ways but I thought I would grind setting
down alot eaiser on the back:)

Rob-"you da man".
Folks, if there is a nicer person to deal with than Rob Frink in this world of knives then I have yet to meet them. Prompt, friendly, informed, custom orders and changes no problem. A very comfortable transaction, all the way around. Can't wait to get that grinder.

Thanks, Rob.
