Ok i got the new bench in and set up now just to put some screws in it to hold the plywood in place. man its solid and its sweet as i can adjust the height to what ever i want by just a few bolts. it is 2 feet wide and 10 feet long so it has lots of space for all my crap. i am going to put bricks under the forge and up behind it a bit to protect the plywood and painted concrete wall. i also im going to drop the height of the press down a bit as it is to high and i have a wooden plywood box filled with railroad spikes that i am going to put it on. now i am trying to get everything in place and realy have no clue where i want everything for easy use. what i have to deal with is a space about 15 feet by 15 feet and i have 3 sides of that space i can use as one side is open. any ideas to a layout, hint hint wink wink :D here are the pictures.

I agree with Patrice on that one. Also a bunch of scale on the floor around that anvil, and an unruly mess of grinding belts everywhere. But I'm sure that will come naturally. You could fit a rack for belts, etc. on that big blank wall behind the bench.

Trust me Vern, you don't want to know.It will keep you awake at night.

Looking good JT. I would get a 2X4 sheet of thermo board and put it on the forge end of the bench.

jt , whats the plastic line on your forge?
vern

Thats what I was wondering too. Also. Does that slag bucket get in the way of your grinding. I use my beer belly to rest my hands on a lot, so I've got to be able to get my body up against the grinder.

plastic tube i don't know what your talking about ;). its my temporary gas in line, its all i had at the time. i am going to replace it with something a little more heat resistant as soon as i get the cast off. also just incase your wondering i am not injecting the gas straight into the blower any more. i moved it to the burner tube. i am going to add a little mixing area ahead of the gas inlet to help mix the gas before it hits the forge.

JT you are joking about putting your gas inlet on the blower, right? Which brings back the question, where did you get the blower from.

I'm just glad nothing bad happened to me. it could work great but it would have to be designed very strictly around safety.
