I know of only 2 dedicated knife shops in Michigan myself. One is in Walled Lake and the other is in Lansing. Neither of which is near Detroit. There is a CaseXX store listed in Monroe which is south of Detroit. Maybe someone local will chime in to help.

I know Don at The Knife Trader in Lansing, and he has a pretty decent selection (well over an hour away from Detroit, though). The Case dealer in Monroe and the dealer in Walled Lake is the same company (he's primarily a Case dealer, but he's supposed to have some other stuff too). Here's his web site if you want to contact him:

Walled Lake is in the metro detroit area. Definitely a little bit of a drive from Utica as metro detroit is a very large area. But..... for a visit to a quality knife shop it isn't that far of a drive

The case shop in monroe is not worth the drive, not much to look at and way overpriced.

There is a place in dearborn at ford rd and telegraph called Harrys army surplus that has a decent sellection of Kabar, spyderco, benchmade, lone wolf, leatherman, SOG, and some other. Prices are MSRP so know your Sh!± and you will be ably to talk'em down.

Harry's has been around for decades and they'll definitely be pleased to separate you from some $, but they have a pretty large store so it's a nice shopping experience all the same.

I try to buy a knife or two from Don at The Knife Trader every couple months. When I first got into Spyderco knives years back, I did all my window shopping on the internet. Id never seen or held any benchmades or spyderco's and was thrilled when I found out that there was a knife shop 10min fom my house that carried them. I went if and bought a para, yojimbo, and mini manix for $20- 30 less than MSRP and have been a customer since then (6 years now). I use the buffer in his back room to my polish clips.

Great selection of benchmades, kershaws, small spyderco, lonewolf, and crkt. Every one is awhile I find a jewel too I bought this R and a stars and stripes Qfor less than $50 for both this summer.

Its also a great place to meet up with other forum members due to its central michigan locatiom. Derek and I met there for a trade not long ago, and when Ejok was going to MSU we would meet there all the time. Even did a review of an xm-18 during its first passaroud.

well found a nice Case knife today at bass pro for my brother. it's going to be his first bush craft knife so it's a pretty good fit. so all thats left is a balisong or butterfly knife somewhere between Utica and port huron t/m and ill be all set

I also go to Knife trader ,Don is a good guy .I live about 5 mins. away and I love it ,he is pretty cool about me wanting to handle everything in the store.

Top Gun Pistol range in Taylor has a very nice knife selection:thumbup:. It is located on Racko road near Southland Mall.
