Shoptalk forum idea/suggestion

So basically rename Shop Talk to include verbiage that indicates its for basic questions and answers and make a Advanced Shop Talk sub forum and restrict that?

I think we should keep it simple.

1. Leave Shop Talk as it is, same name, same function, easy to find for new members with any level of question.
2. Add a new forum "Shop Talk Advanced Techniques" where experienced makers can talk without commentary or interruptions from beginners. Just as in Shop Talk, no membership level requirements. The moderator will move inappropriate posts to regular Shop Talk.

That is the plan

"Shop Talk" .... everything just like it is
"Shop Talk - Advanced Techniques" .... with the description being "An area for discussion of advanced techniques, HT, and materials.....post basic questions in Shop Talk."

I like Esav's simplified forum name.

What I like best about the simplified format and lack of specific membership level is that it allows a newbie with something to say to participate above his seniority level. After all, that's the only way we know who's ready, when he has something to show. The moderator can always move a thread back to basic Shop Talk if it drifts from Advanced interests.

I don't have a problem with this. I'll add it when I can.
