the trees are damn tough here, seeking out a little rock pocket and grabbing hold:

the SOD sought out a crack in the rock and went to sleep for a bit:

the little cove, with a handmade bench for people to sit and gaze at the sea (or do other things :) )

Thanks for beautiful pictures.
This is a nice place.
I love walking along coast lines.
Did you find something interesting drifted to the coast?

I wouldn't be surprised if people do "other things" on that bench. You wouldn't believe how much couples I stumbled upon who thought they were the only ones there :D ! Great pictures... .

Bushman5, your SOD looks sad. :( You should beat her more often... and much more severely. It's almost Valentines day... she will love you for it! ;) Have a heart, man... abuse that knife. It is her destiny! :D:thumbup:

Bushman, you and Pitdog live in Valhalla. Great pics.

yes we do, unfortunately the Power that be are wrecking the province. All our Crown owned Utilities and BC rail were sold off to foreigners. The lowermainland is a cesspool of meth addicts and homelessness, we have a massive gang problem (10 killings in ten days recently), unemployment is rising, and the real estate market has crashed. factor in 10 Billion dollars + for a two week party for the Elite (2010 olympics), factor in the impending martial law 2010 Security forces, and its not such a nice place.

The actual land mass of BC is beautiful. Its the other stuff that ruins it.

I try t get away every day to the land mass and clear the mind.

yeah, my bad. I dont know why i was thinking pacific yew.....i know that we have both arbutus and yew near the coastline, but these ones pictured are clearly Arbutus...

Hey B5, enjoyed the pictures especially the one of the cove. Don't let the other BS get to you. The wilderness is not the only thing that you have to survive. :(

Great pictures, Bushman5. Thanks, as always, for sharing.

There certainly are a great deal of non-W&SS-related issues to contend with on the West Coast right now. Hang in there, and tell 'em where they can stick all those CCTV cameras that will be coming with the Olympics.

All the best,

- Mike

PS - From now on, when people question why one would need to baton with a knife, I will refer them to your bagel pic.

Great pics Bushman, I love coastal walks and hikes. I'm glad you're able to get away to serene spots like these to get away from it all

Beautiful place, man. It is a shame when governments go awry. I'm afraid we are following in the unsuccessful footprints of european style socialism...:thumbdn: More government only means more dependent humans.:grumpy:

On a lighter note.... looks like that Gull has had his fiber for the day... hope he doesn't fly over my truck!:barf:

Yeah I agree with you about the BS wrecking this province. I just moved from North Vancouver to Kelowna on December 31st. Lower mainland is going in a bad way. I just threw in the towel at work after 17 years of working at St.Paul Hospital downtown Vancouver. You see all these junkies in there getting free dental and health care, day after day. The same ones over and over again, and they wonder where all the money go's.
Needless to say I have gotten fed up of the BS too.Got fed up of Campbell's face everytime I turned on the news. I love it here in Kelowna things are looking up.
