Here's the pictures I promised.

I stipped it and hit it with 180 grit:

Twisted some paper towels and dunked them in vinegar:

Wrapped it and let it sit for an hour and a half:

Rinsed it and wiped it clean with dish soap:

I'm pretty happy with the results:

gotta get me one of those leather ones sometime before the become rare and worth $$$
