Well, it was a nice morning despite having lost all our snow from last week to two days of rain on Christmas Eve & Day. Took advantage of everybody sleeping off their holiday cheer to pack up a few goodies and take to the little prairie behind our house.

Beta, seemed to have recovered from all the lamb bones she ate yesterday and was up to her usual energy levels.

Spotting all kinds of milk weed with their tinder surprise waiting to be harvested.

So then I nestled in a little spot. I really wanted to have a morning coffee all to myself and to test out my little foldy cup.

A couple of goodies that came out to play.....Sunuto M3 baseplate compass. I like it! Has luminscent bezel, N. Hemisphere dampening needle and declination adjustment screw.

Also a Swandri wool bush shirt. This thing is great. Basically made out of a wool blanket. Treated with lanolin for water proofness. A bit scratchy on its own, but nice and warm!

Finally, I decided to harvest a bit of sumac. I know Doc said it wasn't easy to do bowdrill on, but possible. So, I'm going to dry this up and give it a shot later when I'm looking for a challenge.

Thats it folks!

Great pics on a nice morning! I like that Swandri shirt, looks tough and warm:D

I'm liking that Walter Davis knife Ken!

Report back after that Sumac dries and you give it a go.

Great pics! I love the picture of your dog running. Nice Walter Davis knife, I really like his style.

great pics Ken... those dogs always look like they're having so much fun...:D

i am super jealous of that Swandri shirt... i love those things and have wanted one for years..:)

Great pics and great gear! Where did you get the Swanni? Paul at Workwear.com? I'd love a bush shirt, but definitely a small!! Did you get a classic bushshirt or the Ranger. If it's the Ranger, how long is it? Waist height? Mid-thigh? From photos it looks like they are cut long.

Great pictures, Ken. I always like the dog shots, and I like the looks of the foldy cup, too: I've gotta get me one of those.

I really like the look of that Walter Davis knife, too. Just the right blade shape, to my way of thinking. The shirt's nice too, but might be a bit warm in my area.

As has been said, lovely photos... great clarity and depth.

You can see the joy and happiness in your dog's face, you're obviously a good owner.

:)
