I don't make many swords but every once in a while feel the need to create one. The steel in this short Japanese influenced sword is 3/16 of an inch 1095 and its blade is clay heat treated to produce a nice hamon. Feathered Mango wood scales from the Big Island of Hawaii were employed for the handle and secured with loveless bolts and epoxy. This blade is is 15 inches long measured from the tip to wood scale with an overall length 23 inches. A brown leather sheath rounds the package out.

Price; $300 shipped in the US
I prefer paypal (account is kelley_ward@keysight.com) but accept other forms of payment.

 cool, I have zero need for a sword still wish I could get it. IMO great size.

I went into For Sale: Fixed Blades, saw Short Sword above HardEdgeKnives and couldn't click it fast enough. Too bad I'm a couple hours late.

Very awesome Kelley! I love your knives but I think this sword takes the cake!

Thanks blademinister I try to keep my work reasonable. Kelley

you think you can make a combat functional chinese jian/gim ? I'm on the hunt for a wrod again after taking a break from not having any luck finding a maker or finished sword i liked. funny just ran across one of each type of situation, then i ran back here to ask you. :)

Hello knife dragon and thanks for checking but I'm going to decline. Couple of reasons for this one is that my heat treat oven is only 22 inches long so I'm limited to 23 inches if I go corner to corner. The other is that I'm pretty backed up right now with knives and don't think I want to take on another sword. I've been working on a Gladius sword (not a customer order) now about a year but just don't seem to find time/drive to finish it. Thanks Kelley

Obviously I found this thread a little late. That is a great looking sword and the price is very reasonable. Are you planning to make more?

Hello David_TX91 and thanks. I am currently making a couple of more short swords but the are more European style. I do however plan on making more of these. Kelley
