Well Pitdog's storm seems to have arrived and brought our first taste of the fluffy stuff last night. I tried to get out earlier enough this morning to catch it but only remnants of snow had remained. Generally a very drab day and I miss the colour of fall already. Sorry I just don't have the landscapes to deal with that you folks on the west coast have!

My two mutts enjoyed the first feel of wet snow on the feet. Nothing like the smell of another dogs urine!

Somebody didn't pay the gas bill last month!

Very nice shots KGD...up here we almost have 3' of snow already, can't wait to get my snowshoes out. Cheers!!!

Treg - 3' - amazing. I have to admit that I miss really good snow. Problem in Windsor is you get this slushy stuff with the odd little hint of snow pack. It gets cold enough to be miserable, always wet and humid, but not really cold enough for a deep freeze. So we trudge through winter with this sloppy slushy, grey, wet blah - kind of like England!

When I lived in Ottawa and Winnipeg, the winters were cold but you had the climate to actually enjoy winter things. I have four pairs of snow shoes in the garage that haven't been used in a few years now.

Rockywolk - thanks for the comps. The knife is a Jeff Diotte custom which I became the happy owner of two weeks ago. The blade is 440SS, 4" blade and 3/16" thick. The sharpmaker has it almost hair poppin sharp.

Gret pics. Everyone mention the milkweed pods for tinder but we have nothing like that down here.

Thanks

Great pics there bro, love those close up shots !

That knife is really nice and looks to have a very functional blade shape...keep us updated on it's performance, with more pics as well of course !!!

Milk weed and wild grapes? I grew up in the Oshawa/Bowmanville area. The west is home now. Nice pics.
