Hi Guys. I need to upgrade my membership so I can post in the gallery.;)

Anyhow, I wanted to go make something fairly simple and straightforward for skinning. This is what I came up with. Short handle, rosewood scales and brass pins. I always like how shiny brass looks on rosewood. Fairly deep hollow grind. Just need to add the final edge and make a sheath. Comments welcome.

Very well done CBCS! I like the blade shape and the finish on the handle looks fantastic!

Looks like a great design and excellent execution. Now go get it bloody and cut something up.

I like it, nice styling and finishing.

I can't quite tell in these photos, but:

How are you doing your markings?

individual letter stamps ?

00 7 vs. 007

Thanks for all the comments.

The rosewood was sanded to 600 grit then I applied 4 coats of tung oil and rubbed with 0000 steel wool between coats. After the last coat was applied, I buffed very lightly with pink compound instead of steel wool.

The stamps are the only thing I don't like about it. Yeah I do them with individual stamps.

I have a stamp ordered for my name but I will probably still do the numbers individually. Just have to get better I guess. That's the most dreaded part of the whole knifemaking process for me is the stamping. Maybe when funds allow, I should look into etching?
