Hey guys,
I wanted to show a few pictures from a trip I took out on the edge of town. This is my spot to go when I can't really get out in the woods, but want to play around with a few toys as the sun is going down.
Her is a shot of the walk before I get to the stop where I stop and do some work.
All in all there is about three times the amount of wood shown here that I can chop, split and whittle until the hearts content.
This was chopping done with the wetterlings, after about 3 1/2 minutes I was half way through this frozen 7" log of poplar. It is really dense stuff, but as wet as poplar is, this would have frozen quick before it had a chance to loose a lot of water content, so Its actually more like cutting maple.
Then this little 1"er was taken in two swipes, pretty decent.
Then a little work the RC6 again, wanted to try some notching with it. It did well, very clean cutter and took off the sapling in 4 swipes.
I did a little more work with a SAK and the Millie, but the batteries were about dead and only had a chance to take a pick of the group.
So, all in all had a nice little walk, had to jump the fence in-behind the house which I didn't think I could do anymore
And I don't think I could have asked for a nicer day to cut some stuff, about -10*c - 18*C or so with the wind chill. So thats about 13 to -1 Fahrenheit for americans, its was nice to me.
