Should any knife cost close to $100 or more with AUS8 or VG-10?

Just wondering what others think . . .
Yeah...what well, people think is only part of it. Some people wonderif any pocket knife is worth four hundred bucks if it's not engraved or inlaid with precious metals. The answer is so subjective that it requires all sorts of questions. How big is the knife? How well is it made? (Sometimes much of a knife's value is in the handle, not the blade.) How strong is it? What is the heat treat like? What will it be used for? (Weapons don't require great steel to be tough or effective.)

What I'm saying is the question is like asking how long a piece of string is.

I have a Cold Steel Recon 1 that has a 440A steel blade, but the strength of the lockup is what sold me on it. So, yes, a knife with an AUS8 blade can easily be worth a hundred bucks just as a plain pocket knife can be worth four hundred bucks. It's only paper.
