Should Double Thumb Studs Be Standard On All Sebenza's? Why or Why Not?

Me, I think Yes. Why, I don't know, symmetry I guess? I know that the other stud would rarely get used, but still it would be nice. I'm sure some people would disagree, but I think most think the same way I do. I actually needed to open my sebenza left handed the other day and that's what's got me on this whole kick, cause I couldn't. I plan on eventually sending in all my user sebenza's to get this treatment, it just sucks having to do without something so useful and beautiful for so long.

On a totally unrelated note, don't you just love Heather, Anne, and the rest of the folks over at crk? I've had to contact them personally on several occasions and they have all always been overly helpful and friendly. I wouldn't doubt that these lovely ladies are a big part of the reason CRK has such a large following, I know it sure helps anyway! If you guys are reading this... ~~You're Awesome~~

Yes. I tend to walk funny (off balance) when toting a one-lugged Seb.

Professor.

Meh. ;) I prefer them, but lots of other people don't. Either way, there's going to be a substantial number of people who'd prefer it the other way. Even though I've sent just about every Sebenza I've had back for double lugs at my expense, I'd vote to leave the single lug as standard.

I personally prefer a single thumbstud. The biggest reason is that I actually like the look of the single thumbstud over the double thumbstud, also I can open the knife just as easily with my left hand without double thumbstuds. So I guess I would be pretty bummed if double thumbstuds became standard issue because then I would have to send mine in to get single thumbstudded haha.

I wish they came with double studs also, but double silver should be the standard.:D

I never thought so--until a couple of months ago I started to have problems with my right arm and hand. Had my wrist in a brace for a while, and it was very difficult to even hold a knife in my right hand, let alone open a folder. I'd vote for double thumb studs being standard at this point.

What you said about CRK staff is absolutely true. I've called and spoken with Anne and Heather too, and they're the best customer service I've ever dealt with. They're polite, professional, friendly, and it's clear they genuinely want their customers to be completely happy with their products.

For aesthetics I prefer 1, but I do find myself missing it on the occasions i need to open lefty.

Yes. I open them with my index fingers as well as my thumb and sometimes right handed instead of left. Double studs as a standard are just more convenient.

I don't know if I'd have them be standard, but I ordered mine with double silver lugs.

And seconded on the CRK ladies! :D

Interesting thoughts people... I must admit, there is a larger following for single than I expected, but I think overall double seems to be the favorite.

Keep em coming. These are very interesting answers!

I do think (so far) that the single stud looks better, but I just sent away one of my small regulars to get the double studs, just to try it out, and then I can compare it to my single studded one, but I think double is going to be a lot easier to play with, I tend to open my sebenza left handed when i'm watching TV or cruising around on the net, so I use my middle finga to start it and then I can slide it the rest of the way with my thumb, so the double would make it easier in that sense, but 99% of the time when i'm using it at work or something else I'll open it right handed and only have the need for the single stud.

I'll update once it gets back from the spa and I get a chance to look it over and play with it more.

I like one on both sides. I like to be able to open with either hand while I'm working.

I think Sebenza's should come with double thumb-studs...I'm ambidextrous when it comes to knifesterbating :jerkit:, so only having a single stud lessens the experience somewhat :D

If you want double studs you can order it that way. What's next, tip up or tip down carry!

My point is that you have the option so you can customize as you wish. I think having the one thumb stud looks especially good on a lefty.
So to answer directy, no, i don't think it should be stsndard but I'm glad it's an option.
