Should GEC make a Jumbo Beer Scout?

I would love to see a larger Beer Scout. It could be based on the 77 frame, but it needs to retain the same design elements like the beautiful long-pull sheepfoot main blade and the bail. I’ve included a picture of a Case 11031 to give us an idea of the size. Both the 77 frame and the Case 11031 are 3.75 inches closed. What do think? Would that be a knife you would buy and use?

At the Rendezvous, the young lady behind the Seconds counter in the GEC store said that they will not have a “Beer Scout Knife” shield in the future because the Boy Scouts have threatened to sue them. So they my have to come up with a new shield name.

I'm not a beer drinker myself but I like the idea. I have one of those Case knives and like it quite a bit. Good working pattern, so a screwdriver/cap lifter would be a bonus imo. To keep the beer theme with a working theme "Work'n 4 Beer" knife?

They like to change things up and using the 77 frame on a bear scout type knife is not something that would surprise me in the least. I never got a beer scout; mostly because it was smaller than I like.

Let's have a Clip/caplifter combo on the 98 frame. That would be properly Jumbo. :)
And put a bail on it. The half Texas camp knife!
I’m down for this proposed knife. It would be a cool combination. However, it wouldn’t really be a Beer Scout though. For me, it has to have a longpull sheepsfoot blade, easy open notch, Beer Scout Knife shield, and a bail to be a Beer Scout. Also, the clippoint blade doesn’t work with an Easy Open notch. There is nothing to pinch there if a clip point blade is used.

Growler would have to be on the Whaler frame the 46 iirc
That would be completely silly, but I’d buy a few. It would be a good conversation starter to pull that monster out at a party just to open a few beers.

They could put the caplifter where the secondary blade normally goes on the opposite side.

I’ve given away 5 beer scouts, make great gifts but I wish I would of kept a couple of them
You are right, they make great gifts. You definitely should have kept at least one.

I'd be more interested in a 440C Beer Scout something that by name indicates use with beverages seems like a great use of stainless steel. I would be curious of a jumbo/larger beer scout also in SS and maybe call it the Pint Scout :p
Yes, definitely. While we are dreaming we should have a choice of stainless and carbon steel.

This past summer while at the beach, my brother-in-law got drunk one night and left his beer scout in a puddle of lime juice overnight. He had been acting as a bartender for the family and made many rounds of margaritas and then mojitoes. Several bags of limes were cut up with his knife. When I found the knife the next morning it was really starting to get red with rust all over the blades and into the joints. It looked terrible. Luckily I caught it in time. There was no permanent damage. After a wash, polish, and oiling it was back to good health. I could only imagine how bad it would be if he closed it up, put it in his pocket , and then put his pants in the dirty laundry for a few days before discovering it.

Since I generally prefer the 77 to the 15, I would be in favor of a slightly larger Beer Scout. Though I’d prefer something with some belly on it to the usual sheepsfoot blade. P PirateSeulb I agree, 440c would be ideal.

At the Rendezvous I overheard Bill Howard say that they will not have a “Beer Scout Knife” shield because the Boy Scouts have threatened to sue them. So they my have to come up with a new shield name.
My friend just let me know that it wasn’t Bill Howard that said this. It was the young lady behind the Seconds counter in the GEC store. Thank you Nate for the clarification. Memory is a funny thing. There was a lot going on and a lot of excitement and anticipation.
