Should I add a Sebenza 31 to my collection of CRK's?

I agree that it is odd. The corrosion has to do with the properties of the steel, though, and not the knife's design. S35 is in the 21s as well as some early 31s. It will corrode under certain circumstances. Magnacut is an advantage for those concerned about corrosion.

The 31 definitely has more lock bat pressure, making it slower to open and close. I think that's a turn off for some people. Personally, it doesn't matter to me as I don't fidget with knives.
I like the 31 design. But after disassembling of all my CRK knives I've come to the conclusion about better fit and finish of the older knives, probably more manual labour used. The finish of details of the 31 knives looks more "raw".

I think the 21 is a little more refined. When I say that, I'm specifically referring to precision lapping of the stop pin sleeve. Can you think of any other examples? There seems to be less in the way of polished blades and handles. Other than that the 31 is fit and trim. I'm floored by the quality.

I have 1 CRK folder, an early S30V 21. During the S35VN era I owned a few of those versions and always sold them on--they were very nice, but just didn't have the fit, finish and smooth action of my 2009 model. I have not checked out a 31, maybe I will one day, but I have a feeling they will not compare favorably.

After some time spent with my new 31 I can confidently say it’s a great knife. With that said, keep your 21’s, imo they’re better personally. But definitely try a 31 down the line too
