Should I Buy a Kizer Splinter?

Cool. The Splinter is a really nice design that is somewhat let down by Kizer's lack of attention to detail. I love the knife and I happily live with the splinters but it should have been finished better. One cannot help get the impression that maximum profit mattered most to Kizer.
I've got no idea what kind of profit margins Kizer is working with. All I know is that the Splinter is a lot of knife for the money, blemishes and all. Mine's a keeper, that's for sure.

I personally prefer narrow folders but you can't argue with the excellent ergos of the 0770CF. A solid and comfortable hold more so than either 0450 or Splinter.
The 0770CF is darn near perfect AFAIC. It's the biggest little knife I own. ZT's going to have to go a long way to make a folder that's better suited for me. Now if ZT puts a CF scale on an 0450, I might start singing a different tune. ;)

Yeah I can't deny that it's a beauty! I wish I didn't have to send it back but I think the lock rock is too much of a deal breaker. It seemed a little dirty too...I was wondering if maybe someone else bought it and handled it and then returned it for the same reason?

In either case I think I'll probably go for an 0450! I definitely wouldn't dissuade anyone from ordering a splinter, though!

Sorry the Splinter didn't work out for you, but you'll be just fine with the 0450. Enjoy it! :)
