Should I buy a sebenza?

First of all, Im 15 years old. I've loved knives since as long as I can remember but I just started spending money on them about 2 years ago. I never really liked the look of the sebenza at first but now I think a small inlay (wood or micarta) classic would be the perfect knife for me. I can afford one, I have $500 left over from from working over the summer. I'm trying to justify it by telling myself that when I'm older, I probably won't be able to get one, ther'll be bills, rent, food, etc. and that since I'll have the best knife possible, I won't feel like any other knives. My mom would probably flip, she's already not happy I spent $250 on a bravo-1 and $120 on a manix not too long ago. I guess if I worked one or both of them into a partial trade she would be a little more okay with it. I don't like all the black "tactical" crap thats being sold nowadays. I want an elegant but hardworking little knife that I can carry without having people go, "OMG is that a combat knife?" I also obviously want a really high quality peice. I won't be doing any major cutting, I'll keep an frn endura for dirty work or where I might lose the knife and the sebenza would be my edc. So, should I get a sebenza?

I'd say say spend $400 on a small wood inlay classic or even $350 on a Mnandi. Both would suit your purposes well and should last you a lifetime.

I just bought mine a week ago and I absolutely love my small classic.
Dont worry about the money it's well worth it.

You're sure to find a great deal on a large or small regular or classic. Personally, I'd go without inlays or graphics for a first Seb and intended everyday user. I'd also go with a Seb over a Mnandi.

But then again, I am the one who predicted the big Menudo comeback...

Professor.

Umnumzaan. You know you want one. Fifteen years old? Your collection beat mine at that age. I only had a Benchmade 800 AFCK and a Pat Crawford Leopard at the time. Then came the CQC-7 970ST followed by the Spyderco Police. I was forever stuck in the cycle of buy, buy and buy after that....

Buying the sebbie now will actually save you money in the long run. I had to work my way up to the best. Bought lots of less expensive knives $100 & $200 price range much like you're doing.. Stop it!!! I spent thousands until I finally bought my Sebenza. Of coarse now I want another.

I to spent hundreds on knives when what I wanted the most was a large regular sebenza. With my modest means it was easier to justify buying less expensive knives. I loves knives so I probably will not stop buying them but if I had gotten my Sebenza years ago I would have made a lot more memories with it.

If I was you, I'd either get a regular (discontinued) seb, or wait until the 21s start coming out with wood inlays.. If you have to get one now, and absolutely want wood, then get a Mnandi... kinda small, but GREAT knife.

YES,tell mom it is an investment, less heat.
however, DON'T let her handle it, she may not give it back, tell her to buy her own.

You earned the money, so you should should get to spend it! I would say go for it; you can't really go wrong with a Sebbie. Cheers.

that's awesome, when I was 15 I was looking a cheeseball united cutlery fantasy knives, since you're a working man now I'd say get it today!
