Nope, no experience with it, but in comparison to other grinders I have seen and used (really not saying a lot truthfully) it looks kinda flimsy....

No experience with it either. I wouldn't recommend it just from looking at it. Looks like it's made from aluminum and pretty flimsy. I'd probably build something along the lines of a KMG clone. There are plans out there for a no weld version.

That thing looks so flimsy. Aluminium to, no thanks. Get that thing covered in grit and metal dust and things are going to start to go bad. I'm guessing gauling on sliding surfaces and threads. Not to mention general wear and tear. Pass on it and get a real grinder.

Agreed -- wouldn't touch that one, not for the price. Aluminum isn't a problem, I like aluminum and it holds up good, provided the adjustment threaded holes use helicoils. BUT NOT THAT DESIGN grinder - wouldn't matter if it was steel, still wouldn't touch it.

Looks like its kinda high priced for what it is. I found a 1x32 from harbor freight to be satisfactory for now.

It does have cam over belt tension release, which I like and added to my redesign of the EERF grinder. If you have a water jet company you can give them my plans to cut from 1/2" steel plate. Then all you need is to tap some holes, bolt it together and add wheels, motor, and a shock. They are pinned to the top of my FB page here- https://www.facebook.com/FaithForgeKnives/

Thank you all for the replies. All said and done that setup would be approx. $750 (motor and pulleys included.) I make knives one day a week as a hobby. My budget at the absolute highest would be under $900 for a grinder. I am using the crappy HF 1x30 right now and it takes forever to remove material. I kinda want a Grizzly but they have been out of stock for a while. Any suggestions in my price range?

It's got a very unpleasing look. It looks like the result of someone's first time in a workshop. And i suspect that it sometime in the process was ran over by a car.

If you are properly motivated, you could make my grinder without water jetting. Print out the PDF at 1:1 scale and glue it to 1/2" plate. Drill the holes and cut out the parts.
