Should I get a Sebenza?

The reason I wanted one was for an entry knife into CRK, and plus it was the cheapest one.

I suggest you buy a large 21 from the exchange on this forum. You may get a decent deal and it will be more in line with the size that you like to carry. If you go for small because it is the "entry level" then you will probably end up wishing you got a large based on your current carry preferences.

I rotate a para2 in my EDC that is easily as smooth and tight as was the Sebie.

I rotate a para 2 with my Lrg micarta insingo. I have handled several PM2's and mine is as perfect as they come, super smooth, perfect lockup, perfect centering, I absolutely love it. The sebenza is all of those things as well. BUT, the sebenza is a tiny bit more smooth, it locks up a tiny bit more solidly, the way the blade falls into the handle screams perfection. The differences in materials and those minute improvements put the sebenza in another league over the para 2. Rightfully so given the price differences. This is all IMHO of course.

YES......... get the one you asked about.

What fun is it to click on the "New Posts" link and have nothing pop up? If we didn't repeat ourselves, 90% of Bladeforums would disappear.
+1 ;)

Honestly, this isn't the best reason to start with a small. The large 21 is my favorite knife and was my first sebenza. I love the smalls (I have a few of them), but if the small had been my first I probably wouldn't have been as impressed as I was with the large. Also, if I had to get rid of all my CRKs but one, I'd save the large 21.

As far as getting one or not, you can weigh pros and cons all you want, but the best thing is to get one in your hands. Either it will do it for you, or it won't. I was a serious doubter till I got one in my hands. Now I'm addicted.

If you want the small, get the Starbenza from Wilson Combat - it's a small Sebenza 21, but with the radial pattern machined into the titanium, sandblasted with double lugs.
I was never interested in Sebenza until I got a large Starbenza. It's an awesome knife if you're prepared to pay the $$

Get the large. It's a much better all rounder.

After owning the large, I was actually surprised at how small the small really was. Shocked really.

Get the Sebenza. I have carried the large 21 every day for the last couple of years. It is an awesome knife that practically disappears in your pocket. It has the best pocket clip, PERIOD. Smooth as butter and zero blade play. I have carried many knives including customs but I love the Sebenza.

If you want a smaller knife, 3" blade, easy to carry, not intimidating to other folks, get the small Sebenza.
Your other knives you listed are good knives, but they're all big, heavy monsters.

Save and get the large. I started with the small and then had to sell it and get the large. The large is really not that large. It's medium. The ZTs are large. The quality of the Sebenza is head and shoulders above the Sypdies and ZTs. I've owned The 550 and the 560 and they were too big for my EDC. The large Seb is thin.

Do you WANT a Sebenza, and can you responsibly afford one? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then I think you have found your answer.

I asked the same question about a week ago and took everyone's advice and got a large Sebenza 21 today. LOVE IT!
