The question is in the title. I like the size and the pry bar. I think it is a little more compact than the RC-3, isn't it?

Thoughts?

The price is great and the knife is better. But no the knife is not more compact. The hest is thicker and about the same overall length. I think the blade is a little shorter than the 3.

I love my HEST, and would say you should get it, it is a great knife, and the extras on it are well worth the extra heft. But I am biased.

If it's in good shapre go for it. Yes slightly shorter than the ESEE-3. The HEST is a cool knife, but I prefer the 3.

I'd do that in a heartbeat, even for a 2nd one. Handle is way more comfortable than an RC3 and overall it's a smaller profile.

I like the knife. I guess I was wondering how that price was. It is in very good condition (as reported) and comes with the Micarta scales. Maybe all of them come with the scales.

The HEST has a shorter blade than the ESEE-3 and a longer handle so close to the same size but made of thicker steel.

I have two and hell I'd think about another one at $60.00

At that price you would be crazy not to buy it. You could try it out and easily get your money back out of it in the off chance that you don't like it.

Dude I don't know... might not be a good deal. Better send me the link/info and ill check it out for ya.:D

Good deal on a great knife.

Hard to compare to an RC3 as there are elements that just aren't common to both that influence the feel in the hand, heft, etc.

I've got an RC5 and my EDC is a Leatherman Multi (original/classic).
If I was collecting more I would definitely grab a HEST and an Izula, but at that price I may forgo the "if I was collecting more" part and just do it! :-)

I'm just going to add my voice to the general chanting of "If you don't want it I'll take it"

I really like my HEST so far. I payed $95 for mine, and would have payed more. Get it.

At that price you can't afford not to buy it. That is a steal. Go for it. I thought I got a nice deal on ebay for $80. It is a great knife you won't regret it at that price.

I just picked up a lightly used one here on the exchange today for 75.00. I'm very happy with that price so again I say...... "Go for it". Did you get it yet?

Get one, looks like a useful bit of kit to have...and at $60.....

Here in the UK, the same knife is approx 171.17 US dollars, which is why I won't be getting one, at the price you've got I wouldn't even think twice.
