Being a celebrant of pocket knfe diversity, I'd vote to use it! !

;)

That outa tick off the anti-knife crowd.

You've already done work to clean it up to your liking so put an edge on it that you like and use that puppy. Part of enjoying knives is learning how to get them to your satisfaction so you can fully enjoy them. Now, if you're not sure about your sharpening ability, go get an old Camp King and practice on it first. Then sharpen your Charlow. Use it in good health!

My sharpening ability is good. I've been freehand sharpening for awhile and I have good equipment. Occasionally I slip or tilt my wrist accidentally resulting in some scratching or a slightly uneven bevel. Though not often, I still make mistake here and there.

Well guys I sharpened it and screwed up. The blade is scratched all over and the bolsters have nicks.

I'M JUST JOKING. Set new profiles on both blades, 36 degrees inclusive. Took the large blade to a mirror finish and left the small one at a coarser toothier finish. Both bevels are completely symmetrical and even. Slices well and can whittle hair. Bolsters still have original finish and the spring/liners are refinished as I mentioned earlier. Looks like it will be a user after all.

You were contemplating selling a Walnut ( raising hand to slap thy face )

Whew...you decided to keep it!!:D:thumbup: Thats a choice you WILL NOT regret!

I too dont like to come out and advise people to use a knife or not - because it bugs me when people tell me to use it! I use a Traditional daily on EDC rotations,I will - if asked, if its a knife that has no collector value and is beat up? I then would say " use it and enjoy the knife".

I was lucky enough to buy two Walnut Spears, I - probably like everyone else love the idea about Charlies Dad having that Walnut, and that it made it onto Charlies actual SFO's - its a wonderful tale and just gives a tasteful Traditional even more depth - to the max, so I sort of need to keep one mint, and I use ( carefully) the other - so if you are at odds with yourself about using a TC - if you had another spare - you would be able to enjoy that knife you are using to the max.
