Should I or Shouldn't I? 2012 GEC BF Knife

Im not very good free hand so I always reprofile with my Lansky Diamond sharepening kit. Does a great job and prevents scratching up the blade. Once I go through all the grades of stoned in the Diamond kit (I even have the sapphire polish stone) I think use my Spyderco Sharpmaker and then strop. Works everytime and no scratches or wierd edge geometry.

I've found the extra fine polishes better than the sapphire lol...but the sapphire works awesome for the low level refinement.

I use the sapphire mostly to deal with the wire edge I get sometimes. It cuts down the strop time. I want to get a better system, I havent been able to get a knife hair whittling sharp.

The easiest way to get a hair popping or "just look at it and you bleed" sharp is by stropping once you get a pretty good symmetrical edge on a knife. Nothing wrong with the sharpening systems if you are willing to actually use them the way they are designed.

PaulBosley; thank you for your suggestion. Think I heard that one before somewhere?
