  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Should I sand this out?

Well, I don't have a Nessmuk.....

Well, I have another knife for you heat treated as of yesterday too. We could ship them together in a week or so...;)

double bullseye it or inlay another ring?
Honestly Andy, most of us would be happy to carry it just the way is.

Get one of those drill bits that cuts a circle instead of a hole to cut around the bullseye and through the nick. Then epoxy a copper washer around the bullseye into he place you just cut.

Whatever you do, don't sand it down! Your ergonomics are top notch and it would be a pity for you to compromise how it feels in-hand. Plus hickory's meant to get beat up.

Somebody was posting over on WSS they liked a thinner handle. There's your buyer!

Nice looking blade there FB:thumbup:

I would sand it... it locks into YOUR hand.... everybody has different ideas on ergos. It will suit somebody. Fit and finish defines us as makers, Andy.

my .02

It is filled in the pic. It just didn't disapear like I'd hoped. Its been sanded now. Damn Canadians.

I know looks is important but I would like the knife to perform.I have had beautiful knives but would not hold an edge thats what a knife is suppose to do.The people who buy your knives have not complained about the knife to hold an edge and have given your knives a positive reviews.Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Michael

Sanded out the chip today. I'll post pics as soon as I getem.

Every knife out of the shop is a reflection of the maker. I'm not sure that "Just ship it" is the reflection that any maker wants to have for himself. If it were me (and I am NOT a knifemaker) and the handle were perfect except for the chip I think that I would remove the scales and put new ones on.

Andy,

Good choice....your attention to this is a reflection of your work ethic. Don't change or compromise on this. My $0.02....

With respect,

Randy
