Thats the way I feel 338385. It wobbles to the point where it bothers the heck out of me. I might look past it if it were used and abused but it's like new. I sent in a large folding hunter with stag and folding guards and they said they couldn't fix it,. I found that hard to believe. The backspring was broken. They replaced it with a cheaper thin case classics cokebottle worth hakf the price. I wasn't pleased at all. I sent in a tiny hunter because the blades were crunchy opening and closing and they did a great job. I'll keep everyone posted.

What was the stamping on the stag folding hunter that you sent in? Just curious. Case made a few of those in the 1980's as limited edition knives (coke bottle folding hunter with floating guard) in Tru Sharp stainless but after that the pattern was only made in the original Case Classics line by Queen.

It was this one Steve
I can't remember the stamp, however it did have TH at the end for tiny hunter I asume.Nice little knife. I traded for a Mooremaker 5300 which I like.

I thought the older 6347 was a two backspring model, the newer ones have 3 backsprings. I don't know when it changed, but that might be a factor.

I would not send to case, to much of a chance they would replace somthing with parts and you wouldnt be happy. I would find somebody that repairs knives who can take the knife appart and thin down the back spring or put shims on the blade.

The one guy I would trust is "muskrat man" on all about pocket knives dot com

I have seen his work

I didn't think about it earlier, but there is a guy that hangs out over in the Schrade s/f that does a lot of repairs.
From what I have read, people seem very happy with his work.

He goes by the user name of Orvet. Might be worth contacting him as well

...And Bill De Shivs who can be found in the Maintenance forum.

Too late. I sent it in saying it has sentimental value and not to replace any parts that are new. If they cant fix it they'll send it back.I did say that if they broke the scales they could replace them in ebony though. I'm debating calling and asking if they can do that for a price. I think scale replacement is like 5 or 10 dollars each side.

Unless they have changed, they will only replace scales with like materials..
At least that is what I was told

Keep us updated

I got the knife back this week. Came out perfect. nice and tight. They even put a factory edge back on and polished it up. The only thing they did that I wasn't crazy for was the buffed off the "for flesh only" etch on the spey blade. No big deal, the knifes like new now.

Here it is back from the shop.Tight as a bulls @#$
