After seeing a post about how easy it is to strip the coating off of a blade; I've been think about stripping my NMSFNO. Does anyone have pics of how their stripped NMSFNO looks? Also, once you strip it I will be able to put a sharper edge on it right?

I dont see any reason why a stripped knife would be able to take a sharper edge than a coated one. It might reduce friction for slicing and batoning, but it probably won't be much.

I say strip it, It looks a little different now, not much though.

Here it is after stripping but with the decarb still on it.

Expect to have to do a bunch of sanding after stripping it, too... and a WHOLE BUNCH of sanding if you want to get rid of the INFI dimples.

I'm keeping the coating on my Bama Clay NMSFNO for the time being ;)

I think it looks good at this stage...but what do I know? I am DRUNK! Just my 2 cents :D I think an NMSFNO looks good, no mater what blade coating (or lack of coating) there is...So as the bossman says: LETS DRINK!!!
